Accessibility
Most of our visitors are recovering from surgery, often older, sometimes medicated, frequently one-handed on a phone. This site is built for exactly that person.
What we've built to
The site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA, not as a badge, but because our actual audience needs it. Concretely:
- Body text no smaller than 17px, with measured colour contrast on every text style.
- Tap targets at least 48×48px with clear spacing, and primary actions placed within thumb reach on phones.
- Full keyboard operability: a skip link, a visible focus indicator everywhere, and a mobile menu that traps focus and closes on Escape.
- No information conveyed by hover alone, no horizontal scrolling on small screens, and layouts that survive 200% zoom.
- Real form labels, inline error messages that say how to fix the problem, and status updates announced to screen readers.
- Animations disabled entirely for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
Known limitations
Wrap product photography is still being produced; in the meantime, placeholder images carry descriptive labels. If anything else falls short, we want to know.
